doesnt futaba already makes a 12 channel 2.4 gig tx?

http://2.4gigahertz.com/systems/futk9200.html

is the spektrum one better?

i am thinking of uprgrading my tx and the 2.4 gigahertz think with no need of cristal seems like a good idea but the 12 channel is a bit pricy for my taste
think ill go with the 7 channel

If you are one of thoses dedicated orange type guys then wait. If you want a 12 channel radio anyway, then wait. I am sure the module is a very good product but the RX will only work with with JR or Spektrum.
Of coarse perhaps you are already switching to the Red guys, but then why buy a module for Futaba?
I am waiting for the red teams 12 channel 2.4. My 72mhz works just fine and has for years

Haven't seen anyone mention it but what about the extreme link modules? They're available for almost all major brands of radios, and there's 10 channel receivers available, and you can buy them in sets for less than $200?

I have no experience with them personally so I can't comment on their performance, but their side by side specs seem better than JR and Futaba's.

Just a thought as i've been eyeing the technology my self.

I have never been shot down nor have I ever seen a shoot down. There is only one other person on my channel between 2 outdoor clubs and an indoor club. As far as I know the MAAC frequency board is still very much alive and well. 72mhz is tried and true, 2.4 is the way of the future but the future is not here yet. I am glad I did not jump on the initial bandwagon, much had to be learned the hard way (read expensive way).
