Me 262 Banana hobby

I just completed this Banana Hobby 262. Seems like a good amount of push with the supplied equipment. Is anyone else flying one of these yet?
I have heard the landing gear is weak but they seem to be well sprung for the weight.

Re: Me 262 Banana hobby

I now have 17 flights on this jet and am very happy with its performance! Takes off well on grass and long wet grass at that. With 4.5 amp 6s 4.5 min. at half to 3/4 throttle uses 75% of battery. Landing gear has no faults so far and flight performance is excellent .
Full power needs to be used for short bursts only, not required for loops or vertical maneuvers. I stayed at full too long and toasted one battery. The manual does warn to not use 100% for more than 30 sec. on the ground but that applies to in flight as well.
I rate this arf very high. Others liked it too and another one just showed up at the field yesterday.

Wow. That is a nice looking jet! It sure is convenient to be able to get an ARF foamy of this quality. Sures saves the hassle out of building.

Is there any room in the fuse to run 2 batteries in parallel?

Re: Me 262 Banana hobby

I think it could be done but have not tried. Seems roomy enough for 2 x 3s of equivalent amps. I think the plane would be nose heavy if the battery size was increased significantly.

Re: Me 262 Banana hobby

I just flew mine yesterday and really enjoyed it. Flies great! I'm still waiting for my 6S batteries to show up, so yesterday I made a series adapter and used 2X 3S 5500mah packs. There was plenty of room up front and my balance was spot on. Here's a crappy overexposed key chain camera video of flights 1&2.

Falconer - Nice work on adding the green camouflage.

Re: Me 262 Banana hobby

Fun little plane isn't it? I have about 50 flights now and It is still my favorite this year.
Almost viceless. Easy to fly. Little if any pitch change with full flaps. Takes off with authority and lands slower than I expected. The springs in the L.G. are about perfect for the weight.
Fun/dollar ratio is high.

Re: Me 262 Banana hobby

Very high to $$$ ratio indeed! You're right about the lack of pitch change with flaps. I didn't notice any at all.

Re: Me 262 Banana hobby

I've been flying the pants off my 262. What an awesome airplane! Impresses the heck out of everybody who sees it fly. I put my camera on top of the canopy for a flight yesterday:
