Retract pump

I'm currently building a new kit which will have pnematic retracts (Robarts). These will be my first retracts, but there is one thing I could not find... to what PSI should the air tank (Robart small tank) be filled?

The reason I ask is that I just came back from canadian tire where I bought an AirMan cordless air compressor (60% off). I specifically bought the one that has a rechargable battery because I don't have a field battery or power panel (I'm still using a chicken stick since I started 5 years ago ) Anyway, the instructions in it says not to exceed 120 psi, so will this be a problem, or should I return it for the 12V compressor (also 60% off this week) that claims to go to 150 psi and invest in the field battery for my field box?

I don't currently have the retract system available to test it out, its been ordered from great hobbies, but the mailman hasn't delivered it yet.

80-100 psi (the small tank is good to 150)

okay then, thanks for the replies, I'll be keeping it. Looking through the user manual for this compressor, it states that the rechargeable battery is good for 12-17 minutes of operation (looks a lot like a cordless drill battery pack).

it also comes with a second "battery pack" that has a cord with 12V adapter for a car 12V outlet.

How are you going to adapt the output of the pump to the fill valve on your plane (i.e. the schrader valve)? I am just setting up some Robart gear also and it seems that you can't use the regular fill chuck valve (like you find at the end of the air hose at a gas station). You have to use the gold coloured fitting supplied by Robart which screws into the fitting on your airlplane. This kinda forces you to use a Robart hand pump, does it not? My first set of retracts were Sierra Giants, and the fill valve was just like the schrader valve on any car or bicycle tire. I take a small air pig to the field and use it to pressurize the gear...works great, but won't work with Robart fill valve.

Blah, blah, blah...sorry for being so wordy.

Well, I haven't seen the robart fill adapter yet, so I can't answer you on that. But, I heard on other threads that there was a very simple modification that can be done that involves the basketball fill adapter (i.e. the needle adapter) and some tubing.

Once I get the gear I'll try the modification and post a picture.

Hi
I used the standard ROBART VALVE . I attached a needle valve that inflates basketballs and what not , than I simply added a piece of air tubing with the ROBART valve , it works great . I think thats its better than the quick
disconnect .
