Graupner?
I recently had the pleasure of discussing Radios with a local chap that knew a LOT about a hither-unknown Radio System (To me) called GRAUPNER!...
After some investigation this system has all the hallmarks of an EXCELLENT radio system at a fraction of the price for a comparable system! So; "Why have I never heard if this manufacturer before???" Who Knows about this and Why have you NOT shared with us at the RCU??!!

It's only been recently that some smaller importers have begun to import Graupner, Jeti, Weatronics etc from the European market. These have always been superb products but, have been "shut out" of the US market by the big guns. The recent plummeting of the Euro (and CAD) against the US$ has made them a very good deal vs the traditional brands which have not lowered their prices to reflect the currency exchange. Mike |

Re: Graupner?
The Graupner company has been in the hobby industry for many many years. I think since the the 1930's.
My first multichannel radio was a Graupner, back in about 1962 or so. They were into every thing in the modelling hobby. Boats, cars, and of course aircraft. I won't go into the details of what brought on the receivership and the purchase by SJ but I think it had a lot to do with the younger members of the family not having the same 'commitment' as the founders. I love my Graupner MC-20. The telemetry that comes with every Rx is outstanding. The full telemetry features are even included with the sub $40 6ch. You don't need anything extra like one does with the Spek TM1000 thing that is more expensive than the most of the 6ch and 8ch Graupner receivers! http://www.graupner.de/en/graupner/about-graupner.aspx https://www.rccanada.ca/rccforum/showthread.php?t=224193 http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...upner&page=202 http://www.graupner.de/en/ Last edited by cloudniner; 03-12-2015 at 08:37 AM. |

Re: Graupner?
There's a large posting here on the electronics for graupner. The best is rcg there's like three of em one is over 200 pages long lol. I've been running the mz-24 for over a year now and love it. Using it in 35cc to 100cc gas. And this summer a glider with telemetry. Both pro-rc and Thunderbolt sell them. Can't beat a 12 channel radio for half the price of a higher brand. And their rx's are cheap as well. I don't think I've even heard about any issues with their product in flight. Well that wasn't human error lol

Re: Graupner?
At this point in time my ONLY complaint is that I just bought a New HITEC A9 and I'm not about to invest in a whole new system (AGAIN!)
Timing! (not to knock my A9 - it is a great radio... but as it has been said. The Graupner is a step above and it is a fraction of the price...)

Re: Graupner?
I was looking for a new 12 channel and he was expensive so that's why I went graupner. And I could sell all my old rx's to cover new graupner rx's lol

I have a Very Good radio that is ... slightly over priced... The Graupner is an EXCELLENT Radio that is ... Well priced with MORE features... Knowledge is power - for that I thank the internet. But sometimes the timing of this knowledge is ... lacking. ... Next time... The NEXT one liner is; "You must learn form other people's mistakes. Because you will not live long enough to make all of the mistakes yourself..."

Re: Graupner?
RCGroups did a nice review of the Graupner/SJ MZ-24. Here is a video of the some of the telemetry available. There is a lot more and of course it is built in to all the Rx's.
I have the engine module and really like the RPM and more importantly the ignition battery voltage. It is reassuring to know that the ignition battery will alarm if it goes low. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnn3RX67OtQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CeMKX9ZelRY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7_VY3gsB-E Last edited by cloudniner; 03-27-2015 at 06:53 PM. |
