i can answer some of your questions..... but i am new to making ariplanes i have been making molds of sailboats and submarines for over 10 years..... so i got a few tricks up my sleeve

first... cdn tire crud. if ok. for making your mold. and making your master.. the trick to your master is to finish it right down to 2000 grit., now i know that does sound like a lot. but any imperfection will show up in the mold. and it take just another day of wet sanding to get there...

second little trick i learn. was from a pro glasser.. sand your master down to 400 grit.the coat or resin to seal it. then do a lite coat of motormaster red primer... then sand it off with 600 grit untill all primer is gone. then prime with grey . and do the same with 100 grit.
you will get to the point that no primer shows. and you will have a perfect gloss finish

Now as far as reisn is taken.. i have used west system and mgs.I perfer the mgs. myself. it cost more. but you have to get the right amount. down to the gram. you dont use a pump. but you use a hardener that you can play with. 12 part resin to 1 part fast harder and 1 part slow or 2 parts fast ( you get the idea) and just to let you know,..i did try and experiment. my newfe broke his baseball bat. and i used the mgs to repare it. i am still hitting fly balls with it. after 5 years worth. west system works just as well. i just dont use it that often

as for wax..... partall #3. i have tried others, but that works the best and is all i used. pva is a must also.. i got a real cheap airbrush. and milled out the nozzle. and that is what i use to spray the pva. nice and even coat...
