it's actually 3 regular races and the final.

The Points are setup so that you only need to show up to four races all year long to win. The amount of races is fine. Show up when you can. For the People that are really concerned about Points then they should show up to every race. The more you show up the more room you have for Error.

I can see both sides of this arguement - too many races in each month to attend them all and walking on the club races... but the other side is that the series is designed so that you don't havr to attend them all. you can skip some and still have a chance. all you need is 3 + 1.
So if some guys decided that they didn't have to attend all the races, they'd still have a shot.

By the way, just thought i'd mention, if you guys didn't know already, the 1st quebec race has been relocated to the Napanee track due to a problem with the GRC location.
The GRC guys will aparantly be running the show in Napanee, AND, the napanee track has aprantly been rebuilt and is more suitable for the race.
See the GLORCS site for more info.

IMHO:

I think there should be only one race / month, and here are my reasons why:
  1. Destruction of club racing
  2. More time spent @ home tracks
  3. Too much traveling involved for the budget racer

Now for a expanded reason for each point:
  1. Club racing is suffering because of the amount of people going to these larger races, and are spending the other 2 weekends / month with family, mowing the lawn, and watching NASCAR. Club racing is what started this series, but without club races, tracks may not survive, without tracks the series will not survive.
  2. When people spend more time @ their home tracks, it builds local relationships and spirit in their community. It also allows local racers to have more tracks time with their cars/trucks instead of waiting for 3 hours to run 5 mins.
  3. Budget racers are arriving @ these races more and more, but time served @ their local tracks would be more beneficial to them and their budgets.

I also understand that a racer does not have to goto every and all races, but if you were to not go, and wait for a club trophy race on an "OFF GLORCS" weekend, you may not have the compliment of drivers that you normally would have because of family, lawns and NASCAR.

On a personal note, I raced in the FTR race 2 weeks ago, and I am racing in London this weekend. Unfortunatly, I could not attend a trophy race @ the Niagara R/C Offroad track was hosting last weekend because I needed time to get other stuff done.

Final Thoughts:

Trim it, or Extend it.

Couldn't agree more with those 3 points provided... I will only do a couple races this year at most! I've been busy around here and making money / family comes first!
