What do you use for fuel in your four strokes? I am using cool power 15% and it seems to run well!

Wildcat 15% for saito 62,80 and 125. The 125 is inverted and runs great.

Re: Four Stroke Fuel?

Over the years, I've owned just about every size Saito engine made and I have always used Cool Power 15%. The oil used is all synthetic, no castor. Castor blends are ok for 2 strokes but I don't like it for 4 strokes. I believe 4 strokes run hotter and fuels with castor really crud up your engine with all that baked on browinsih black crud.

I've personally not tried a higher nitro content fuel in my 4 strokes but Saito claimes that performance is greatly enhanced using up to 30% fuel AND they claim the engines runs not only better but cooler with the higher nitro. Perhaps one day I will give it a try and see!

Re: Four Stroke Fuel?

Was a time that Saito wouldn't warrant engines run with any castor, but now they suggest Omega-type fuels with 20& of the oil being castor. The higher the heat, the more castor is needed to protect them.
: Saitos have poor valve and rocker oiling and benefit form the extra lubrication of the castor.
: That said, I am currently using 30% Nitro Heli fuel in my 1.00 Saito with excellent results. I run it very rich, which is loves. this fuel has 23% mineral oil and seems to be doing a great job for the engine. Of course, time will tell. I get smoke almost as if I've got a smoke system on. I would not want to run any oil without castor lean at any time, even when tuning.
: Years gone by, I used to use Cool Power in 10% to 25% nitro and put many hours on my .56 and .81 Saitos, but switched them to Omega the last couple years of use. The newer 1.00 gets the Heli fuel only. What a dream to start and runs wonderfully on it.
