Simple and Cheap Lipo + Charger

Remove this ad - become a site supporter!
Hello,

I'm looking for a cheap Lipo charger and battery to replace my cheap NiMH charger (Duratrax Pirahan Digital) and NiCAD/NiMH batteries with something more durable. I don't race but just use it to play with my vintage R/Cs. Price point $150 for both but the cheaper the better. I'm using mainly silvercan motors so I don't think run time will be any issues. Thanks

Going to sound like a broken record here, but if you can find one used and can live with the relatively low 2.5A charge rate, the Great Plane's original Triton @ about $60 is a great little charger.

I checked out the Triton but they are DC chargers. Any recommendation for AC chargers? I suppose I can mod one of my computer PSU

Remember the voltage cutoff

If you are using a vintage speed control you need to get a voltage cutoff so you dont over discharge the lipo or it can be toast..
