Well, I planted my plane in the ground about 10 flights after I got my wings. And I am going to rebuild it. But I was wondering, do I use spruce or balsa, or both. I figured I would use balsa where necassary (like places that do not have to be structurally strong) and spruce where strength should be.

Am I right? Thanks for the help!

im no expert but id say balsa for the fus, and balsa/plywood for the motor bulkhead

Just try and duplicate the materials from the "carcas" and re-enforce where necessary.

On the fuse repairs I would use balsa on the tail. Spruce will add weight. When splicing the longerons make a diagonal cut for the splice. Not square and what I go by if it is 1/4"square then you need a splice 1" long. Use CA on all your repairs including the firewall which will get into all the small cracks you can't see. I have glued a lot of firewalls in with ca including at the field. Then cover to match. I also noticed your wing looks ok except for the tips. When you prang a model always pick up all the parts and in a non load area you can put them in place and ca them.
