Sealing gaps

I built a sickle the other day and it flys quite well. I built it with balsa ailerons and I was wondering if someone could suggest what type of tape to use to seal the gap between the wing and aileron. I would have posted this under construction ideas, but I thought there may be a SPAD specific solution to this problem.

Thanks George

Thats a tough one were your going from wood to plastic, maybe try some really strong packing tape? I do that on my 40size planes, and just use covering on anything bigger.

Good luck.

Clear packing tape would work for the most part. The stickiest tape I've found is the red tuck tape used for sealing/joining fibreglass insulation.

It's expensive (about $10 a roll) AND it has it's logo every few inches but it does NOT let go. It'll tear before it releases from the coro.

I was going to try packing tape, but I never thought of tuck tape. I have a roll around here somewhere. I'll try the tuck tape tonight.

Thanks. George

Try Book Binding Tape...found at Staples, very sticky clear and tough as nails, I use it to seal aileron and elevator hinge gaps on my big birds!
