Is this company legit to buy products from?

Hi Guys: I came ascross this website to purchase r/c stuff. http://www.amazonhpirchobby.com
I was wondering if any of you have purchased from them and if they are reliable?
Thank you in advance for your valued input.

I saw that website yesterday too, coming up on google searches, except it was called 'ebayrpirchobby.com.' I think it is a bot that takes any search criteria and offers an unrealistic low price automatically, just to harvest your personal information on the order page. Likely a phishing scam.

Re: Is this company legit to buy products from?

That's a good point because their prices are really really low and sounds a bit fishy and on top of that they are saying no shipping charges to ship the products from China to Canada. On top of that their website only accepted funds from WESTERN UNION or WIRE TRANSFERS - again a bit fishy. But today they show accepting payments form VISA, AMEX, AND M/C ???
I am glad I did not make any payment or follow through with the order.
Anyone else with any comments are welcome and at the same time lets ALL BE CAREFUL.

Re: Is this company legit to buy products from?

When the prices are too good to be true and they require western union money orders, it's a scam. $1200 for a Futaba 18MZ, not likely. These sites seem to pop up every few months.

So, did anyone contact the RCMP to report it as fraud? If people can't be bothered to report these things, nothing will ever get done, and a pile of our not so savvy hobbiests will get ripped on!

Kind of pointless to do so. No jurisdiction and the scam artists regularly change domains. So people are just made aware of something that is non existent in a few weeks.

RCMP? they have no jursidiction over China

best to keep people warned online. Check the forums for feedback on all the companies. That works well, imho.

Re: Is this company legit to buy products from?

You can report it online through the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre: http://www.antifraudcentre-centreant....ca/index.html

For the most part it's just educational, like someone else said Canadian law enforcement has limited influence overseas and the internet is like the wild west for now.

Obviously for more serious stuff, such as hunting Magnotta, Interpol comes into play. However these types of scams should never find a victim, avoiding them is mostly common sense. Unfortunately they do suck some people in because they keep going...it's too bad, because once that money is gone you aren't getting it back.
