Frankly the 116 still boggles my mind... the 3W110cs and Mintor110 are already a challenge to balance in the latest ARFs due to their weight and the 116 is heavier. Perhaps discussion with the MVVS/3W/DA/GP/ZDZ engineers would help you/us better understand. Materials, design and reasons they use them are pure speculation on my part.

For me, all I can go by is past/present success and results.

The loads we put on these engines are minimal at best as opposed to what they can do. So perhaps lighter, with more power will last forever in this hobby.

But the real answer is this is a hobby for all. It's best that we have choices whether light, heavy or right down the middle.

True!! can't be 100% happy with everything. I don't like that my GP-123 has the right cylinder to the back. I wish it were the forward cylinder

Any kind of Engineer would realise. If you draw your latest design with a Crayon. It will naturally turn out heavier than if it were drawn with a fine point pen.

Ya Brad... my biggest beef with the GP. Fergie said it a was for the sole reason that it could be a drop in for the DA120 which shocks me a bit that it was a consideration.

Didn't say that's why they built it so we have choices. But it does give us another choice. So we're to go down to one choice? Your choice? That's why I said ask them.....do you know why?
