Re: Glow Head Brotherhood
I figure since I just about have my X-Cell helicopter ready to go, I picked up a gallon of fuel and built a field box. Found the Hobbico Ultra Tote box on Amazon for $15.41 shipped. I'm sure that was a pricing error, but they honored it.

Re: Glow Head Brotherhood
Yeah, me too. Started the hobby on glow as a kid, and still love the smell of caster oil.

Re: Glow Head Brotherhood
I am mainly glow guy too. I have a couple of electrics, but I really cannot see myself going mainstream e-power. The cost/benefit just is not there. Besides by my nature, I am keenly interested in anything that turns, burns, glows, and flows. Electric is nice, but not th$$$t nice.
I do miss my friend. He drag raced and I got my methanol from him. I don't know what was in it but it sure smelled nice in my glow engines. Love the smell of glow fuel early in the morning right at sunrise! BEST time of the day to be out. Nothing better than a thin smoke stream drawn through the calm blue sky and first rays of the sun showing it off. I have a question for us engine guys. Not sure where to put it up. So I will throw it out here to see what wall it sticks to. I have a couple of old ratty engines that I want to make pretty. They are clean and run fantastic, but the paint is discoloured and flaking. Looks like ----. I would like to strip the coating off them and go natural for now and repaint my own custom colours later. The question is how to most easily get the paint off? One is a blue OS LA, the other two are red Irvines. |

Re: Glow Head Brotherhood
If the colour (real English) is applied by anodizing which is what the blue on an LA is, Try this
Easy Off is very corrosive so I would be very careful not to leave it on too long otherwise it may turn the aluminum dark. I have not tried this myself, so no guarantees.
