Trev, do you use the Monokote to fuel-proof the motor box? I was just trying to think of how I want to do it. If that is what you're doing, I like that option!

If not, what do you suggest?

Now that I think about it, perhaps she's always been one comment short

Is there Sayal in Montreal? That is where I got mine.

Thanks guys! - I stopped in at Canadian Tire last night and found the black corrugated stuff in 1/4" diameter - I picked up a 10ft pack for $5.99!

I'll post some pictures tonight - looks really sharp and really cleans up the ignition install!

Cheers

Hey Tyler!!

On the canister tunnel, I brushed on a light coat of thinned finishing epoxy to seal the balsa and canister mounts. The front section of the light ply motorbox is not sealed with anything, however the holes have been covered with clear monokote to prevent airflow into the fuse. I've honestly never fuel proofed a motorbox before, but Monokoting it would be a light, simple way of doing it for sure!

Cheers

Ok... here are a few pictures of the ignition wiring all done.

There are 5 separate corrugated covers if you look closely...

* 2 plug wires on left side of motor
* 2 plug wires on right side of motor
* 1 corrugated cover than contains the wires from the ignition sensors (tied to the carbs with zip ties)

If the ignition leads and wires were 1/2" shorter, this wouldn't work - just barely long enough!

Re: 126" Carden Extra 300 - BBT - Build Thread

Check this out... I'm currently installing my Mintor220 in my 42% Dietrich Slick (and redoing the motorbox in the meantime).

I thought the Slick was a big plane, but the 43% Carden dwarfs it!! Take note that the Slick is sitting on 5" wheels and the Carden has no wheels - Yikes, this Carden will be massive, once the wheels are on
