Re: Batteries for Parkzone Sukhoi

Yes, I have it sitting behind the batt. slot to get the CG right. It's out in the van right now but I think the back of the batt. is in line with the trailing edge of the wing. Let me know if you want more precise for CG and I'll check it out closer tomorrow. It's held to the fuse. with good old velcro. Don't know if I have one with an exceptionally good motor or what, but it will do consecutive loops with the stock prop with no problems.

Re: Batteries for Parkzone Sukhoi

Has anyone flown a sukhoi or mustang with the hobbycity batteries? I've heard conflicting stories of them either being great, or not up to the current draw of the sukhoi at all.

At $2 each it's not a huge deal if they suck, but due to shipping I'd like to order at least 10, which ups the cost enough that it would be better to buy one genuine e-flite replacement if the hobbycity ones aren't good enough.

The hobbycity batteries are not getting very good reviews when used in the little blade MSR heli.

I'm using the 240 ma ones from HK. You have to solder on your own wire and connectors. They're bigger but the Sukhoi and the MSR carry them fine. About 10 mins run time.

Re: Batteries for Parkzone Sukhoi

I wouldn't trust those batteries. I have witnessed first hand the sorts of issues encountered when using third rate lipo batteries and chargers. If you order them and don't have issues you are one of the lucky ones. The few lucky ones. I've seen equipment destroyed and house fires narrowly averted. Not trying to be over dramatic but is saving a few bucks on a battery worth risking the safety of you and your family?

Re: Batteries for Parkzone Sukhoi

You need to do a little more research. Been using between 30 and 40 of the Zippys over a number of yrs and only had one failure that was my fault when I had the charger set for nicad and would have happened with any lipo. Go over to RC Groups and check out the reputation for the Zippys. You'll also find a majority of the everyday Joes are using them.

Re: Batteries for Parkzone Sukhoi

I have been using these batteries in my Vapor, mSR, Sukhoi with great results. For example, my Vapor has a 15 minute run time with the HK batteries. I have ten batteries and each one is great! And at $1.79 each, it's a great deal! For me, anyway...

Thanks,

Gordon
