Nitro Evader ST
Hey everyone I have an Evader that is just boggin down and dieing on me...I melted a spur gear which I replaced but the truck is still doing the same thing that brought my attention to the melted spurgear....
When it starts it sounds alright it idles for at least a minute when I hit the throttle it just bogs and dies no go I pulled apart the clutch bell it looks good clutch spring is still in tact I noticed some black crap which I am guessing is grease being flung out from belween the fly wheel and that big nut with the groves in it...I tore the whole back half of the truck down and opened the diff/gearbog I noticed that the gears seem to be not meshing correctly during the rotation...what I need is a sure fire way to tell whether the gearbox is pooched or maybe the clutch..... I melted the spur gear becasue I tightened the slipper too much could I have fried the gearbox too..or the clutch I am open to any suggestions I just want to get this thing running again.. thanks Ron |

sounds like an air leak somewhere and the engine gets to hot and softens the gear(check temp)richen up a tad maybe.check alignment of gears,i had the same problem with my tnx turned out the motor was beat and was running super hot and heating everything else and u get the picture lol
u can never tighten the slipper toooooo tight lol

try rolling it back and forth and if it bucks then you have to sort out your driveline issue.my revo did the same thing to my spur when i blew out the diff.i would dissasseble the carb and clean it out, blow brake cleaner through the engine and blast it with air to get rid of all the crap in it.then set it to exact factory settings.if it still bogs when it gets hot you may need a new piston/sleeve kit.
