Re: World Model--Ultimate ep Biplane

Don't worry. World Models EP Planes flies the best....right out of the box. Setup your plane as per the specs in the manual and you should have no problems. Setup your throws with a throw meter for hi and lo rates and you are good to go.

The Ultimate is a sweet flying plane in any size. I don't expect any bad habits.

All my EP's are World models....the only problem is exchanging the batteries. You have to take the wing off etc.

One other thing.....don't use the included motor...I repeat....don't use the included motor.
Use a EFlite 480 1020 kv with a CC 25 A ESC, with 11.1v 20c 2000mah LiPo and APC 10X5 E prop for 20 minutes flying time.

Cheers and good luck.

Re: World Model--Ultimate ep Biplane

No, I don't have the plane. But good choice on the motor. APC 12 x 5 or 11 x 5.5
should be great ! The plane is a bit similar to the Ultrafly ultimate but yours is a
bit stronger I believe. Anyway you didn't answer the above questions about
shipping the plane? or picked up

Re: World Model--Ultimate ep Biplane

WM makes nice planes, I owned the bigger 40S. Unfortunately, I don't think this is a very good 3D plane, even though it is touted as one. You may be disappointed if you bought this one to do raw 3D. I'm afraid the best you might get out if it is advanced sport flying....

Re: World Model--Ultimate ep Biplane

If you can tell us why BigBreeze....is it because of the drag coefficient? or the thrust to lift ratio?

Re: World Model--Ultimate ep Biplane

Well l finished with the build and l must say it went together very well. The plane is as light as a feather.l think it is going to be a handfull to fly.l don't know why you think it would not be good for 3D. lt has close to the same specs as the AMR Ultimate which is a very good 3D plane. This plane is actually lighter than the AMR.The motor l am putting on it should be overpowering it--which should help for mild 3D

Re: World Model--Ultimate ep Biplane

Well, my 40S was pretty "squirrely" on take-off, due I think to the short tail moment! Plus it did not slow down very well, it needed to be flown very fast to keep flying! My first landing with it took me by surprise, granted I was used to my 88" Yak, but I have flown heavily wing loaded planes before, and this one was tricky to land! Bipes usually are fairly draggy airframes, and this one slowed down rapidly after reducing the throttle. It also has small ailerons, somewhat out of the propwash, although there are 4 of them!! But I still feel that this one is not ideal to do 3D. I did hover it a few times before I sold it. As soon as you start falling out of the hover, you're done. It will hover in the hands of a more experienced 3D pilot, but not easy for a beginner. Also, some bipes have a reputation of being snappy at slow speeds with lots of control throw deflection. It did fly very straight and fast though. Really a nice plane for just burning holes in the sky. Your experience with the EP version may vary slightly, although try to build it as light as possible. I guess that's the best I can come up with...

EDIT: Well I was writing this as you posted above, and it sounds like you might have a winner. Don't get me wrong, I wish you the best of luck. And you will definitely have enough power. Let us know how it goes, and post a vid if you get the chance!!
