Re: replacement battery for remote starter
Something like this will do. Similar voltage, same capacity, high C discharge rating. You of course can use a higher capacity like 2000 or more if you like.

Re: replacement battery for remote starter
Hey Sugarpops, I replaced the heavy and bulky gell cell pack last season with 2 x 3-cell 11V 2200 ma-hr Lipos. (cheap ones from you know where) On my Sullivan HD starter, Series connection was nutz! WAY too much rpm. So I hooked the two cells in parallel and voila! Spins all my glow 60's and 55's like crazy. Does a good job on my ST G90 glow also as long as I back off the prop to give it a running start. I'm sold on using a couple of Lipos for the starter.
Another thing....they stay charged forever! Go to GH, get the parallek wiring harness and have at it. |

Re: replacement battery for remote starter
Just wired up a heavy duty starter (24 volt) with 2200 3s lipos for someone. Lots of spin!

Re: replacement battery for remote starter
LiFePO4 auto, truck, motorcycle etc.. batteries are available to replace Pb batteries however they are expensive.
LiPolys are far to dangerous for use in a vehicle unless it is extremely well protected and has a extremely good Battery Management System on board. Regards. Andy. |

Re: replacement battery for remote starter
I went to LiFePo4 to turn my starter. The life batterys are safer then Lipo and you can charge them up and leave them fully charged till the next time you go to the field, even months later and they're still charged.
I run two 3 cell life batterys in series to get about 20 volts fully charged. As long as you don't try to start a 50cc gas engine you would be good. Loading the starter too much causes big amps and the switch and brushes heat up too much. I have started 30cc engines with my cheap hobbico 90 starter. If you don't have anything big to start then 14 volts would work great for you. I've ordered the sullivan 24 volt starter for this year. I used two of these for 20 volts. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...ePo4_Pack.html With this harness, http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=10264 Two of these would give you about 14 volts with the above harness. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...ePo4_Pack.html |
