Oh and my end caps are smart! So leave 1/2" space between the end of the spar and the end of the wings. This way you may insert a piece of foam board right inside the space! If you leave more paper (1/2") on the outside of the end cap it will give you material to clean up the edges! I will include this example when I upload pics next!

Re: First SPAD

In the second image you can see the end cap. it has not been glued or taped in place yet though.

I used no drawings and simply designed as I went along. No idea of where the CG will end up or the size of engine I will use. Probably a 15 size electric. Wing span is 30" with a tapered chord (6" at the end, almost 9" at the fuse)

This is a fat fuse, but it looks like a 30's-40's experimental reno racer or something. I expect it to be somewhat quick because of the shorter wing span, but its fat and will have some decent drag as a result. This is all assuming I can balance her out with the equipment.

Anyway, like I mentioned before, I will likely build a much simpler model to fly and test the material first. It will be a project you can finish in less than one day (probably half a day) and cost less than $5 to build the airframe... I will of course take pics and post them here... eventually.
