Thunderboltrc.com Giant Aeromaster Test Plane...

I finally got some decent pics of the Giant Aeromaster Bipe that I use to test many of the Thunderboltrc.com products. This is likely the last flight of the season for this plane - Days are too short and the weather is getting cold!

What do you use for a covering/finishing process on your planes?

Very nice plane Jeff.

Yes, unfortunately, I guess a lot of us are having out last flights of the season and already looking forward to the next! Can't wait to fly that new DL50 in my AW Yak!

You should setup that first pic of the Aeromaster as your Avitar! Nice shot!

Re: Thunderboltrc.com Giant Aeromaster Test Plane...

On this plane, I used SIG Koverall fabric(I used Stix It to adhere the covering to the frame) and Polycrylic to seal the covering and fill the weave. I then used Krylon spray paint to finish it.

I think I'm sold on this Koverall. Many people seem to like it. I'm going to try it on my Spacewalker.

Re: Thunderboltrc.com Giant Aeromaster Test Plane...

Grizak, Nice job on the Aeromaster. I have the ARC to build/finish, do you have any recommendations? I have a quadra 52 and Spektrum system I plan to use.

Re: Thunderboltrc.com Giant Aeromaster Test Plane...

Glenn,

Yes, I can offer a few suggestions:

Reinforce the landing gear area - I noticed this was weak on my plane and it has been mentioned in other forums. I would also recommend these Landing Gear reinforcement standoffs:

http://www.thunderboltrc.com/index.p...roducts_id=550

The gear on these planes tends to bend easily - The above will really help!

Keep the tail light! I had to add weight to the nose to balance this plane. Your Quadra 52 will help because it is a heavier engine, but try to keep the tail as light as possible. I probably would have put the rudder servo forward and used a pull-pull setup instead of in the tail.

Reinforce the firewall.

Definitely go with 4 servos in the wing - 2 servos with linkages is a pain.

Other than that, you should be fine.

If you have any other questions, let me know
