Helis (and planes) On Ice 4

Helis (and planes) On Ice 4
Feb 1st or 2nd - blizzard date Feb 9th

Hey folks

We are back at my cottage for 2014 after a great event at Murray’s last year. Year #4 for Helis on Ice - time flies!
Due to popular demand we’re going to try mixing a few planes in this year. So if your wings don’t rotate you may want to put skis were the wheels normally go.

Christie is planning on pulled pork again and we’ll be sure to have some warm cider on and a bonfire going.
Starts anytime – goes to whenever. If you are coming a distance let me know and we’ll find you a place to bunk down.

Once we get a little closer to the date we’ll make the call on weather and Ice conditions. Event Date is planned for Feb 1 (Saturday) with a backup of the 2nd (Sunday) – worst case we go to the next weekend on the 9th (Sunday)

Directions

From the Valley

Take the number 12 Hwy to New Ross
Turn right at New Ross (Road to the Forties)
Go 17.4 Km
Turn Left ( sign says Parkdale and New Germany)
Go 9.5 Km
Turn left on to Killdog Road (Big Blue sign by Church)
About 0.8 Km - turn left onto Coveview road (only left on Killdog)
We are the second from last driveway in the Cul-du-sac

From Halifax or Yarmouth

Take the 103 Hwy to exit 11 (Blockhouse/mahone bay exit)
Turn Inland toward Cornwall (away from Mahone Bay)
Go 30.5 Km
Turn right on to Killdog Road (Big Blue sign by Church)
About 0.8 Km - turn left onto Coveview road (only left on Killdog)
We are the second from last driveway in the Cul-du-sac

Re: Helis (and planes) On Ice 4

If we were having it this weekend at my place, we'd have to use floats, not skis.
Winter came in strong this year, but seems to have left a couple of weeks ago.
We need some cold to firm things up.

Thinking back to Jeremy's cabin two years ago... There was a LOT of carnage on that ice! I came with a 450 and a 600, and left with a bag of assorted parts!

Re: Helis (and planes) On Ice 4

Hey Murray
Heading out today to take a look at the ice - if there is any left to look at
Maybe we can go boating instead!
I will post pics if there is anything to see. More worried right now about flooding!
Very weird weather!
