Radian 2 metre receiver help

Remove this ad - become a site supporter!
I think I have fried the receiver in my Radian, it is an AR500.
In looking for a replacement I would like to have telemetry and s-bus for a GPS.
I have tried a search, looked at Spektrum, Orange and Lemon and just seem more confused than when I started.
Can someone provide some suggestions and/or guidance.

Re: Radian 2 metre receiver help

You need at least a 6 channel receiver with a data port to hook the Telemetry and GPS to the receiver. Check the link above on receiver compatibility, etc.

Radian's a 3ch bird, So as long as you have a bind/data port, even a 4ch receiver should work for Telemetry.

S-bus is more difficult. The TM1000 is X-bus, so you can't take advantage of that. Orange does sell a variety of S-bus compatible DSM2/DSMX receivers, you'd need one of those for S-bus GPS.

However your Spektrum GPS unit also is X-bus and compatible with the TM1000 so that's a non-issue.

In summary, any Spektrum DSMX receiver that's compatible with your Radian will work for you. I'd start with the AR400. It's cheap, has enough channels for the Radian and has the Bind/Data port your TM1000 needs (the TM1000 drives the GPS).

Re: Radian 2 metre receiver help

I could be wrong. (Probably am) isn't the ar400 a short range park flyer receiver. Just asking because you putting it in a glider. And we tend to fly them farther away then park flyers.

Re: Radian 2 metre receiver help

AR400 is a full-range receiver

http://spektrumrc.com/Products/Defau...rodID=SPMAR400

The 63xx and 64xx receivers are the Park Flyer receivers.
