Optic 6 Battery Pack Question
I have a Hitec Optic 6 since 2004. It came with the 9.6v 600mah battery pack. I find it is not holding it's power for too long. Here is the specs:-
Hitec Optic 6 transmitter, One CG25A AC Charger, #58207 8 cell 9.6V 600mAh Transmitter Battery, Instruction manual, Hitec sticker sheet, Antenna flag set. I was thinking of ordering a 11.1V 2500 mah 3 - 5c LiPo battery pack to power the radio. My question is....will it work? Thanks for any help. Cheers. |

Re: Optic 6 Battery Pack Question
I have two Optic 6 Txs' and mine are crapping out also. I think I will go with a higher mah Nimh battery just to be safe. I don't want to fry the electronics!!

Re: Optic 6 Battery Pack Question
I have used a Dualski TXB25003-9C 2500mAH 11.1v battery in my optic for the past 2 years with no problems.
From new I seemed to get limited flying time, thats why I changed. Cheers Honker

Re: Optic 6 Battery Pack Question
I use this one ..... http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...er_Lipoly_Pack ......
I use this http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...lancer/Charger or this http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...lancer/Charger .... @ no more than .5ma to a maximum charge of 11.5 volts. After a couple of weeks when it's down to less than 10.5volts I recharge. |

Re: Optic 6 Battery Pack Question
Be sure before you install the battery that the negative and positive terminals are correct for the connectors ..... there have been a lot of fried transmitters because the battery/transmitter terminals are reversed on the battery.

Yes....thanks. I've been reading up a lot on the battery. I'll most likely solder on the plug from the 9.6v battery pack onto the lipo pack making sure of - and +. |

Re: Optic 6 Battery Pack Question
I have been flying with my Optic 6 using a 2700 NiMh pack from www.maxamps.com/ and have had very good success with it.

Re: Optic 6 Battery Pack Question
Ok guys.....the battery arrived in the mail yesterday evening. I switched around the black and red wires and plugged in. Power shows as 11.9v and everything seems to be working fine. Had the radio on for about an hour checking my RC stuff and the power never dropped. This is without charging the battery when it arrived. I'll give it a boost sometime in one week and see what happens.
Thanks. |
