Art-tech Cessna 184

I just bought a Art-Tech Cessna 184 electric for my first trainer. Has any one used or own this plane. I haven't flown it yet, but i'm wondering how the flight characteristics are like. It looks like a really nice solid plane. I got the 4 ch model with the li-po batteries. also I would like to switch out the rx and install my new DX6I rx. Will the speed/c work with the Spektrum AR6200 rx?

Yep, the speed control should work fine. Maybe keep the prop clear of any hands or objects while you are playing with it to test. Better to be safe than sorry!

Thanks, I heard that the plugs were wired different. (+ - S) to (+ S -). I'll have to take a closer look.

ok. Good point on your part. Red is always positive. Black or brown is always negative. White or yellow is usually the signal wire. What
type motor do the instructions list in the plane? Is it a 350 or 370 ?

It has a 290 brushed with gear box. The radio went in with no problem with the wiring. I had a chatty servo in the wing that just needed adjusting, and I had to redo the front steering because I had problems with the two piece nose gear. I could use so advice on how to balance the plane, it seems to be very tail heavy when using the balance point noted it the inst. using the inst, the battery is mounted in the bottom at the balance point. It seems to balance aft of the battery at the edge of the opening. I guess I should get it to balance dead center of the battery opening, about 1 1/2" aft of the LE. [/img]

Balance

It is a high wing trainer as we call it, so use the 25 % rule. If the wing is
eight inches wide at the fuselage body, measure back 2 inches , which is
25 % of 8 inches.
