OK. Sanded the fuse side to get rid of paint and to make sure the root rib fits flush and square. There is a rib shaped template that I suppose enables the drilling of a hole to allow a locating dowel. I'll use the many small holes technique to allow the expoxy to harden into "rivets". I'll get it together next week I hope. How do you guys feel about the recommended dihedral?

I haven't had any problems with it. I think it can be reduced, though. If I remember correctly, the model has more dihedral than scale?

Re: Velocity-RC T-33 Maiden Flight

Brian put the maiden on his latest Velocity R/C T-33 on Wednesday, and it went great. For the second flight, I put two cameras on my T-33, and followed him around a bit. We didn't try to get too close, as we didn't want to break his new jet on it's first day out!

I haven't been around RC Canada for a while, thought I'd post something to bring me back. Just moved to Edmonton, here's my T-33 at my new club in Stony Plain:

Angry Re: Velocity-RC T-33 Maiden Flight

So after carefully building this plane and making extra re-enforcements on the airframe, the wings gave out in midflight. Please dont mind the video it was taken by the gf with a cell phone camera. I was running a 6cell setup on it and it may have been too much to handle...

Re: Velocity-RC T-33 Maiden Flight

I wonder if the wing was damaged in the first cartwheel. Here's another flight with mine:

Re: Velocity-RC T-33 Maiden Flight

Sorry to hear about the loss of the T-Bag. The wing joiner is a weak point. It looks like you were pulling some serious G when the wings gave way. I try to never pull too hard when flying mine. You probably did have quite a bit more power in your model than I do mine. Any chance of a re-build, or is it shreddies?

This was a completly brand new kit. The one that cartwheeled on landing was long gone!
Yes it had a hot setup in there, but I guess it was just too much! It was toast. I wont buy another one of these kits unless its wing joiners is a carbon rod
