Twice Lucky!

Back in June of 2004 I was lucky enough to win the monthly raffle at our club meeting and took home a Phoenix Cap 232 ARF. ( https://www.rccanada.ca/bb/viewtopic.php?t=8657 )

Well, last night (Monday) it happened again, I used my last, lonely, solitary fiver to purchase the requisite 3 chances, and Bingo! I got to take home the Hangar 9 PTS Mustang!

I've been wanting one of these toys for a while, but I've been really short of scratch. Needless to say I am pleased, as my stock of planes is somewhat low.

Unfortunately, until we sell our house and get moved, it's going to have to stay in the box. Should be a fun toy, I think, trying it with all the various modes of operation they show in the manual, from mild to wild.

Congratulations!!

I look forward to seeing the completed product once you get settled in "The County" (Local Joke )

You'll have your choice of two clubs to join depending on your location - or BOTH if you like to fly at different fields!

Look us up once you're settled and be ready for the Jet Rally on the weekend of 9/10 June.

Re your Hangar 9 Spitfire......You may be interested to hear there are two long build threads on RC Groups.com one is a Saito 100 powered build by a British pilot knickname "Bigplumbs".

There are also several electric versions underway, the main thread is by Canadian, Glen Peden.

An RC Groups name search should get you there.

Picton is the county seat, or whatever they call it now under amalgamation, and yes Jim, I will be there; assuming it goes ahead given that the airport is closed to us now. I was there last year as a club member, doing my thing, and if it is a go again, I will definately try to do my share.

bbbair ... My wife and I already refer to our place there as "the house in The County" or "out at the lake". I was stationed there when the Liberal government closed the military base up on the hill. That's when I developed my affection for The County, about 40 years ago.

Thanks for the kind words guys, it's always fun sharing with friends.
