Very nice, and a real man knows what those weights are for, spad building!

Dumb question: Is the spar a meter stick, not a yard stick? I noticed you have 19 and something inches marked as the center.

Re: Spazzler Build

Hahaha... my brain does not differentiate between meter sticks and yard sticks. It’s a meter stick in the wing

Hey Ben, cool build, I like it. For the waggling, make sure the rudder and vertical stab are secure and stiff. If its side to side motion, these flight controls might be the problem. Good luck. Daren

He wants to stop the waggling!

Seriously though, maybe some bamboo skewers through the flutes into the foam to stiffen it up? Try your local grocery store.

Re: Spazzler Build

Hey guys,

I have had this waggling on every SPAD I've built, and I'm sure it comes from the open wingtips. When there is a crosswind, these open wingtips catch air and throw the plane sideways, then it swings back, and the process continues. I might stiffen up both of the tail surfaces too, though.

Damon, as usual, I havn't a clue what you're talking about buddy! There is an extension cord in the background of a few of the pics. I've never used a bungee starter. I've had a few hand-launchers though! Putting together a new DPS now that this one is done (or pretty close).
