Re: Hobby Stores in Southern Ontario

Check out Grand River Hobby on Courtland Drive in Kitchener, beside the expressway. It's run by Murray Manning who used to own the hobby shop in Barrie.

Re: Hobby Stores in Southern Ontario

A&J HObbies, just north of Walmart in Vaughan.

Also, Ideal Hobbies in Barrie (just across the street from Princess Auto.....)

Your comments do raise an interesting question: checking prices against the web-vendors is simple enough. What makes you think that you can do better elsewhere? Most people are happy with their LHS (local hobby shop) as long as they get reasonable service and prices. Sounds like you aren't getting what you want there.

Depending upon where I am and where I'm going, Hobby Hobby (first real customer there!), A&J, Pinnacle and Ideal all get a share of my hobby business.

I've also dealt with some of the web-vendors for items that I can't get locally.

Remember to support your LHS because if they go under, where do you get your little items because the web-vendors probably don't carry it or aren't available when you need the parts (like Saturday afternoons after a morning of boring holes in the sky and ground.....)?

Re: Hobby Stores in Southern Ontario

Hobby Hobby in Streetsville (Mississauga) and Skycraft (Burlington) are my favorites. If you've only been to Flightcraft in Kitchener, you're in for a treat Flightcraft is way over priced on many items and it often wreaks of cigarette smoke for your shopping enjoyment

I used to be a regular there when I lived in Mississauga, probably 20 years ago...I still order online from them all the way in Calgary now, because they are still "my" hobby shop.
