Jay is that the secret?! The 15T pinion!!! I'm running 17/87 with the 4600 but i've tried 18 and 19 and i think it just heated the motor up and didnt help driveablity or speed...so i went back to 17T as it's my smallest pinion...but maybe I'll take the champs advice and give a 16 or a 15 a try...I'm thinking that you cant put much smaller a pinion on than a 15 I bet or it wont fit the spur right...

15t is the smallest that will fit. 16t pinion is also good if you dont have a 15t. I also have my mamba esc settings on the lowest setting for everything, no drag brake, no punch control, lowest timing for the motor, i also left alone the brake and throttle curves.

On the subject of mounting the ESC such that the USB port is accessible, I stacked up a couple of pieces of coroplast (looks like corrugated cardboard but made of plastic, available at craft stores), and sandwiched that between the ESC and chassis with 2 patches of servo tape.
