The title says it. Is there a Surpass II stemps on the crankcase? What sort of performance difference.

Thx,

Alex

mainly some nickel plated parts to help prevent corrosion, and some cosmetic updates. There is no choke flapper on the II version like on the I version.

I dont think the performance was that much "better" in terms of power, but tech specs suggest there was some improvement in top end power.

I heard the power went up, but so did the price in a big way.

When I bought my .91 Surpass (original version, it just came out in late 1994 and I received it in time for Christmas) I paid $500 Canadian for it. I ordered it from Tower Hobbies, and after exchange & tax, and shipping it was $500. Wow. And that was less than I could have bought it for in Canada at the time.

A 91 Surpass II is $319 from Great Hobbies. After tax and shipping thats $350. 70% of the cost of the original surpass.

Prices of engines always seem to go up... but thats not always the case.
