Thumbs up OS .46VRDF Q40 Racer!

Almost finished with one of Ed Smith's old racers. Just have a little more fiddlin' with the cowl fitting for the OS .46 VRDF underneath. Also just have to wait a while for the flying field to dry up. The prop that's on there was the clipped CF tuning prop, I'll be using an APC CF 7.4x8 or close to it for actual flight.
Hopefully this will give me my speed fix for this flying season, along with my Escape sp400 pylon racer.

Yep, need to get that engine into the "happy" RPM range, when it unloads in the air,(around 24,000) like it does when running a fan, hence the CF prop.

Re: OS .46VRDF Q40 Racer!

Is that a Q40 or an old FAI racer? I don't remember seeing a Q40 with a belly pan for a pipe before, pretty sure all the Q40's run a muffler.
No real matter though, it looks good, I have a Vendetta here that I should finish one day!

Very nice. I like Ed's stuff. Those wheels won't be very turf friendly. If you can do some video, would be great to see.
