WCRCAF hosting annual float-fly, Maple Ridge BC.

For those of you who may be interested.... The WCRCAF is once again hosting our annual float-fly at Allouette Lake in Maple Ridge on Sunday, May 1st... This event is now a memorial to our late great friend and long time club member, Dan Jude.

It almost seems like you have to make sure the car has a full tank of gas before you set off up past the gate, but it's really not that far...for you gadget freaks who have a GPS it's here 49.288869N 122.48116W (approximately)

I will try and be there this year... will have 3 aircraft this time....
I'll have to try and catch the earliest ferry over in the morning.. and then about a 1 hour drive from the ferries??? Is it at the same spot with the BIG stump in the water over to the right .....

Darren nice to hear from you... As I recall you have that Fairchild Husky, a Beaver and a now a Turbo Otter... quite the collection...

Yes, the float-fly will be held at the same place... big stump and all, and we are hoping the weather will cooperate this time around.......

There is quite a bit of local interest from the other clubs in the lower mainland and we should have a large turnout......

Gate Open
What time will the gate be open??? I was thinking of taking the 7:00 am ferrie.. Sun morning... but that would mean I would get there around 10:00 am... Just debating if I should spend the night in Van again.....
