Hmmmmmmm.......something is definitely wrong here. I've been here in Vancouver for a week and other then last Sunday when I flew in it's been bright, sunny, warm and no rain!

Seems that things are a bit mixed up here. Perhaps the earth started rotating in the opposite direction. Have you flushed lately to check.

Ahh LA LA land? Ain't BC a little far north from California or is the whole west cost of North America in LA LA Land? I always thought it was the constant sun in California that caused the LA LA factor. Perhaps it's the sea air?

Any way I haven't been able to take advantage of the good weather out here... stuck in an underground garage all week, Don't even get to come up for air for the walk back to the hotel as the garage is part of the hotel so walk through tunnels to get everywhere. Oh well I guess there are worse places to stay then the Hyatt Regency in downtown Vancouver.

But starting to go into withdrawls here.... no hobby shops around and haven't been able to breath in any CA fumes or balsa dust in a week and it looks like at least another week to go before I can.

Oh well off to work I go... no rest for the wicked.

Jim...If you are there tomorrow, you can hop on the skytrain and take it all the way to burnaby...there is a stop about a block from Norburn Hobbies.. You get a good unguided tour of the city too....

Jim, so your going to be there in Vancover for another week? I know that work comes first but don't you at least get one afternoon to yourself in a week?

Your in a beautiful part of the world and stuck underground......sounds a bit familiar! I use to live in Northern Ontario which is absolutely beautiful country, especially in the summer. The best fishing anywhere and only five minutes in any direction from my home. But for 5 to 6 days a week I worked over 4000' underground in the mine! You can bet that I made good use of my time off, out doors, if only to counteract the evolutionary affect of having my eyes grow larger to see in the dark subteranian environment where I worked.
.....This is me when I came up to the surface after my shift>>> ....

As has been said, your not missing anything as far as the weather is concerned! Its been crapy for the last few days and we actually did get snow flurries here this morning! My son called from London and said it was "snowing really hard!" Now, noon, its just plain misty rain, cold, and completely overcast. Didn't make the trip up to Owen Sound to fly with Rob and brother Bill. Oh well, I'm hoping for the next weekend!

You should take Nony's advise and give yourself a break if only for 3 or 4 hours one afternoon to check out the city and the hobby shop! I couldn't imagine going all the way to a city like Vancover and NOT having at least some time to myself to check things out but I realize that this is a business trip and your there for work, so you do what you gotta do! Well, hope to see you soon and all the best with the rest of the trip my friend!

Take care and have a safe trip home!

Whoa!! That is unbelievable!! It is getting near the end of April right??

If things hold true to course, you will probably get our weather in a couple of days , and everyone will be complaining about the heat ...

Wayne,

Thanx for the heads up on Norburn. Found them at this link http://www.norburnrc.com/index.htm

Unfortunately they are closed Sunday and Mondays. Maybe on Tuesday I can take a long lunch and sneek a peak.

Gary thanx for the concern but working the whole weekend will net me 3 more days off to attend SA Contests. Might even be able to get out to Moncton now for their SA meet.

Keep those servos and batteries dry for me eh! Now it's gonna be a rush to get the Yak finished for show and tell in May.. only a week and a half away. Good news is my muffler is in so I'll have everything to complete it just need some time now!

What's really unbeleivable is that Windsor (where Rob is) hardly gets any snow all WINTER!! And now they get some now!!!

RAIN??!!! I would have liked rain, I got up yesterday morning to 1-2 inches of snow, this morning there was 1/2 an inch, thankfully the stuff from the previous morning had melted away.......good ole Canadian weather....changes more than our government.....but that's a different thread.

Snow finally gone.... Now rain

Well the snow finally stop. Windsor has set a new snow record (OFFICIAL)
We had good weather yesterday and we spent the day outside shovelling and spreading 15 yards of gravel. ARRGGGHH. Sore today....

And now today we have two more days of rain coming in from Wisconsin.

Ok, I'm not gonna complain after reading what you guys are experiencing.

I was out in the hot tub with the missus Saturday evening, enjoying a nice bottle of wine as a light rain made everything just that much more surreal. :P

The rain is holding off the yardwork... providing me time to catch up on some overdue aircraft maintenance.
