Razor Test Flown Tonight

I test flew the Lanier Razor 3D tonight. One short word. WOW

It was a little gusty, but hey - planes need wind over the wings to fly don't they? Landings were interesting with the choppy air near the ground but I managed to keep things in one piece. :P

This plane flies beautifully. I am very pleased. I didn't try any "hanging on the prop" type flying due to the windy conditions. I did loop, roll, snap, etc, etc. On a calmer day I will try some harriers hovers and torqouts and see how those go.

Yes, I am repeating myself but I have to say it again. I am VERY pleased with the flight performance.

Here are a couple of pictures. The pilots did a great job tonight, and with a smile. My kids donated them.

There is no cowl because I wanted to see how the Irvine 53 was going to behave inverted. I just couldn't get the tank mounted low enough for my liking. The engine does load up a little when I turn the plane over. I will be turning the head it to the 8 o'clock position - where the muffler will exit centered with the fuselage and out the bottom. Then I will cut out and mount the cowl. But I probably will not bother doing that until I have 6-8 flights in to really feel things out. The 9 o'clock position may be better, but the muffler on this engine is large, the best place for it to go is out the bottom.

Ho Ho

Looks pretty gaude Claude. How is that air in Ft St John anyway?
Colder and denser than the Peace?

Air is about the same. Wind blows alot more than in the valley. I've adapted.

Hey Claude,

It looks very nice, great job on covering i'd say, Congrats on your maidin flight......

When i did maidin on my Anhedrial Tee stick i was nervious too, but as soon she was 200' x 150' i was relaxed since she flew stright and level, no trim was required!......landed in bit of cross wind but it was great first flight.....
