By the time all my daily tasks are finished and I've got some spare time it's usually dark-o-clock.
It seems to me that I do most of my flying at night especially this time of year when the days are shorter.
Temperature is not an issue either, I just freeze my digits holding on to that cold plastic Tx!
I preheat the batteries in a warm clothes dryer (no tumble) and pack them into a cooler to maintain freshness.

Cheers
Andrew

Was able to view the video this time. Wow! Very impressive and quite the agressive landing.

I haven't flown my drone at night yet but if the winds die down tonight - I'm inspired to give it a go.

Re: Night flying...

I'm built like a polar bear cold doesn't bother me much either. If I'm not flying off my driveway like my video I'm at a field close by and I use my plow truck to make an access and proper runway. So I can drive up and keep batteries in the warm car. Most of the guys I fly with are too chicken to fly in the cold. So we also rent the local old junior high gym out on Wednesday nights and fly little mostly hand built foamys. If someone leaves with a flying plane we've done something wrong!!! It turns into a foam massacre!!

I've done quite a lot of night flying. Regular RC models, FPV airplanes and Multirotor FPV.
good illumination is key. summer is not so great because you get eaten by mosquitoes at night. I do most of my night flying in late fall and winter.

My favourite LED's are Green, Red, White and yellow. Blue and purple are hard to spot from just about any distance so I never use them. I buy spools by the roll from China, but if you only needed 3', you can get them from Hobby King or other online RC suppliers.

Re: Night flying...

I agree Max the spools or rolls are the way to go just have a good soldering gun. Great hobbys also sells them in the 3' rolls. I don't use the plug the put on them it only draws off one cell, I run them to an extra channel on my RX and put that channel on a switch so I can turn them on and off( if it's not too dark). I to only use blue as acsents. White, green, red, yellow. All good!!
