I ask Mike to post this info on our own usersgroup..here is what been posted, I find it interesting what all the manufactors have done when its not even allowed to use at there end

....

I thought you all would like to know that Sanwa Japan has moved up
their time-table on the 2.4g Aircraft Radio.
At Shizouka Show in Japan last weekend they showed an early prototype
of the 2.4G version of the RD8000 radio. This is the first radio that
will be offered for Aircraft in 2.4g

When last I talked with them, their engineers felt it might be as long
as January 2008 before we saw samples for testing (worst case scenario).

Now they are talking about mid-summer 2007!

I understand they are still behind Futaba but consider this:
1. Unlike Futaba, Airtronics/Sanwa was not in the industrial 2.4g
business which means they had no prior engineering on this technology.

2. They started researching/developing their own 2.4g equipment about a
year ago and have already moved from development to testing to
production! We expect Car 2.4g equipment in June/July time frame.

3. They are using a technology that is not even legal in their own
country! It is truly being developed for you!

Frankly, I think it's impressive that they finished the car equipment
so quickly and still have it work so well (it is GREAT).

And so now they are going from NO, none, zero, nada 2.4g equipment to
having car and airplane equipment inside fo 18-24 months. If you know
anything about R&D that's fairly impressive for a very technically
difficult and new technology.

I might add that indeed they are working on a new competition radio
line as well and by moving this RD8000 project up, that means the
Competition Radio development time frame should be moved up as well.
(Let's face it, they need to make a Stylus replacement ASAP!)

I will keep you all informed as best I can. If you have any questions
let me know.

I need to send my RD800 in for repair.
Do you thgink it would be better to send it in now to Aitronics in Anaheim, or to do it later after everything is moved?
