I know what you mean Phil, when the weather breaks I try to get in that open window for flying. One time I rushed out to fly and forgot to change the model on my radio and ended up with a crash instead, so much for flying that day.

Re: Did you fly today?

Not today, but yesterday...it was +10, a bit windy. I have to maiden my new 550, took this very rare winter flying chance. Everything went well.

After a long gap from my last fall season flying, it's like learning to fly all over again. My lame sport flying skills...got more lame-r .

Re: Did you fly today?

Got out to the field, ground was pretty soggy with all the weird warm temps and rain... Set everything up and realized............ARGH !!!! Forgot my stater!!!!! So packed it all up, went home grabbed starter , back to the field ( thankfully only about 15min from home) .... Got there and almost got the van ( snow tires on ) almost stuck in the soft grass / dirt in the 200' lane that goes out to our flying field.... Managed to back up ad decided to call it day .... Cause with that kind of karma .... Who knows what would happen next !!! LOL

Wise move, my friend. I learned a long time ago to heed the "message of the gods".
When everything is going wrong, pack it in. The couple of times I ignored the warnings... I have had to take the "walk of shame". There will be other opportunities to fly!

You are 100% right Max! Sometimes it's better to back away then just go headstrong into chaos! LOL

Re: Did you fly today?

Richard if you had been flying electric you would not have had to worry about a starter!! Just sayin!

Yeah yeah... LOL However you must admit that nitro does force one to learn better collective management , which I believe will enhance one's electric flying... cleaner entry and exits in and out of maneuvers....

For now , I get more flight time just as I am getting into the groove and learning more manuevers.... Hey love both Nitro and Electric ... I do like the fact that I do not ( yet ) have to worry about a generator, $$$ 12S packs and 4 min flights....

So once I find that right electric heli ( 12S ) it will be nice to alternate between nitro and electric....

I do like the fact that I had more places to fly the electric tho, but it is what it is....

I LOVE 'EM ALL... Addicted to 'HELI-LOVE'.. Yeah Baby !!

Re: Did you fly today?

Just rubbin ya buddy I fly nitro to, it was an open door I had to take. And you are correct, it does help you learn collective management for sure, and that is a great thing indeed.
