For us, Thanksgiving weekend at Sandbanks Provincial Park here in Ontario is becoming a family tradition. This time I brought along my airplane and flew as a guest of the Prince Edward Radio Control Flying Club near Picton.

With 13 members, PERCFC is a small club. They have a very nice field and what they lack in size they make up for in hospitality. And my darling wife helped me combine three of my favourite things - camping, radio control and photography.

Well John;

I'm happy that you enjoied the hospitality of the PEC - but be advised - your time there is limited.

This year the PEC were notified that their lease has been terminated in favour of McGinty green economics - the field is slated to be turned into a solar farm in the near future (2012/2013 I think).

The PEC is currently looking for a new home - if anyone knows of a suitable site - Dave Holmes wants to talk to you.

Failing that - the next closest sites are the Bay of Quinte Aeromodellers & Brighton RC Hawks. - both clubs enjoy visitors!

Yes, Dave did mention that. It's a shame they'll lose their nice field. They've survived a move from the Picton Airport at Loch Sloy and with luck they'll survive another.

I wish them all the best and hope the new year finds them well settled in a new location. Great bunch of guys.
