It might be a little out of your way, but I always deal with Skycraft Hobbies in Burlington. They are very knowledgeable and helpful and have a huge inventory.

Lol, you're kidding right? Skyshaft probably has the worst service of any hobby store I've been too and his RC plane stuff seems quite limited. I don't think he has much more in car stuff either. The guy who owns it is very abrupt with people.

I find it odd that you say the people who work in Hobby Hobby are useless. I know a few of the guys who work there and I've always found them helpful and knowledgable. They deal big in cars. They really do know what there talking about. Just ask to speak to one of the car guys. Would you care to elaborate what the problem was?

As for online, there are too big ones but none in the GTA.
www.towerhobbies.com is a US store dealing only in online sales. Their service is good and their prices are low. They have a lot of stuff.

www.greathobbies.com is in PEI and Alberta. They have big stock as well. I've never bought anything from them but I've heard of many people having a good experiance.

I get most of my stuff at Pinnacle Hobbies in Markham (Markham Rd and 16th ave)

The owners do it all - helis, cars, planes. They are involved in many competitions and I believe even are sponsored. Very willing to help.

My vote is for Pinnacle as number 1.

I buy both in store and on-line.

I have always found Hobby Hobby to have great service. It may have been the time of day you went our you just happened to get a dud. There are a couple of people you should look for that work in the store that are seasoned and knowledgable but you find that out with experience going to the store. The Hobby Hobby website has bios on their staff. Make note of the individuals that have expertise in the area of your interest and be sure to ask them. Maybe that will help you out.

Good luck.

Having shopped at hobbyhobby I think maybe you have been told what you didnt like to hear,Or you didnt get the information you was looking for. I have always found them informative, and very helpful.
The pricing is sometimes higher than online stores, but you can go buy and have same day not having to wait a week for delivery.

As for skycraft the store deals in a wider variety of hobbys. another store i have shopped at is Flightcraft in Kitchener. again very helpful there also.

For online Hobbywholesale.com and greathobbies.com. free shipping IF order over $100 and usually no PST.

Same thing I was thinking. Actually HobbyHobby's prices are pretty fair, just don't buy electronics (radios, testers) or batteries from him. He charges too much for them, and doesn't sell Hitec gear except for servos.
