OSD with RTH
I am looking for an OSD with RTH / gps and waypoints for fixed wing. I have read great things about the fy41's but there seems to be so many more options since its release in 2013. I am originally going to put this on a fixed wing but would be nice to have mutli ability .
THanks

Re: OSD with RTH
Gosh I feel so outdated.
I have been using Dragon OSD reliably for years now and have never had the need to try anything new. The only thing it does not have is waypoint navigation. I will follow this thread in case anything interesting comes out of this discussion. Who knows. Even I may be in the market for a new OSD/RTH and APM!!

Re: OSD with RTH
Hey max. I think I am going to hop on the APM route. parts are ordered for this build. I will keep this post updated.
As far as I can discern, the selection in hz transmission to the system is for one to vary the flight management via computer, which essentially relieves you of even using a transmitter if you wanted! but it is also used to connect to computer to set up rth and waypoints pre-flight. Barrett

Re: OSD with RTH
If you want something of that nature, why not go straight to PixHawk. Same thing only better 32bit processor instead of 8bit.
Development for the 8bit programming has come to a halt as they work on 32bit now.

Re: OSD with RTH
Besides more memory, the fact that APM cannot support EKF is a big difference.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extended_Kalman_filter It makes for better position hold.

Re: OSD with RTH
thank you! ya I was noticing quite a price difference between them. the EKF for my plank needs I can't imagine being a big deal, really, all i ordered it for was RTH function, but I thought the maintain altitude would be nice, i assume EKF would do it better...
thanks again. Barrett
