Hot news! TTR has bought the controlling interest in Associated, the world's 7th largest RC company (in terms of sales). Associated made up approximately 20% of sales at Thunder Tiger. This means that Thunder Tiger becomes much larger and will control a larger stake of the global RC market, moving into 4th place, behind Futaba-OS. At this point in time, it is uncertain whether the Associated name will continue; however we believe there are currently no plans to remove it.

so is this associated as in Team Associated? AE makes great quality kits and i wouldnt want that to change.

Due to the impending retirement of AE President, Roger Curtis, Associated Electrics and Thunder Tiger Corporation have begun negotiating a joint venture designed to streamline production and delivery of AE products domestically and internationally.

Associated brings solid name brand recognition to the table, which will pair perfectly with the tremendous manufacturing capability of Thunder Tiger Corporation. Both companies have worked together very successfully for more than six years to produce much of Associated's current line of products, with each company performing the services that best match their core abilities. That plan will not be affected by this potentially new venture. This guarantees that Associated's high standards for product quality and performance will remain intact.

Associated's relationship with our domestic distributors will remain the same. However, product availability and fill rates will improve. Associated's products will be available in more countries throughout the world.

Ownership of Associated has not changed, and its' personnel remains unchanged. Associated's team of highly motivated individuals stands ready to carry on the legacy that has made this company a legend in the R/C car racing industry.

Although a final agreement has yet to be reached, both parties are confident that a strong mutual business relationship will prove beneficial to both parties as well as their customers around the world.

AE hasn't been sold. The thread is labeled incorrectly. It does get peoples attention though. The only difference is TTR has money in AE instead of just making money on mfging of kits. They will still have the quality we all expect. I'm just upset that now there won't be a AE 1/8 Buggy. Team Losi's buggy comes out in May.

I would be very VERY surprised if there isn't an AE buggy... you know that if Losi has one AE's won't be far behind... especially since likely they will work off of the S3 platform...

I know it is an OLD post and all but I was talking to a friend in Australia and he asked me about it. He owns a store there and his TTR distributor told him that they bought AE out.. so I had to come back and find this...

AE hasn't changed their update on it so I guess it is still the same situation...

Any more word on that Losi buggy at all? I haven't heard anything about it...
