Has anyone heard of a funtana spad design. I thinking of trying my hand at a .40 size but thought to ask before I tried to reinvent the wheel.

I don't think it would be possible after comparing my FuntanaS40 to my coro combat planes.

The Funtana is all about stiffness and low weight, SPADs are just the opposite.

I have grab different measure to start it on my side.

And for stiffeness and weight I don't think it's an issue in the .40 size plane.
I built several spad with low weight.
A Spadet at 4 pounds!!!!

In that case, a Funtana is based on a Terzi Katana T30

Simplify the wing (remove the fillet) and size for a 56" wingspan, 1½" thickness. I have a Funtana I could measuree for you. About 1:6.5 scale.

Look here, click on projects, click on t30 Katana for drawings and photos.
