3 Blade is for sound scores. They just dont pull like a 2 blade.

I hate to see all that work into lighting the plane and then run a 3 blade and ruin it.

Thats like building a dedicated light weight race car and them putting the old tires back on. sure it works but better grip will help tons. If you wanna fly imac get a 3.

Look at my avatar. Count the number there

Re: BBT Lightened 43% Edge w/ Piped ZDZ180

I didn't chirp in earlier..... But my vote is for the 3 blade.
First, your power to weight ratio is going to be silly. We all like silly, but silly can be no fun sometimes. Like not being able to hover

And we all saw how Donnies big Yak performed on a 3 blade... No slouch for sure.

And hey, I went DLE.... I am all for the budget

That ZDZ180 is also on pipes and it handled the 40lb Extra around like a foamy!! Even Jack Marcotte said it was borderline too much power!!
.
.
.
Now put that powerplant on a plane 4-pounds lighter

What to do

Ok, don't order both right now. Spread it out LOL
Do the 3 blade now. Your Static scores will go through the roof
Then after Maidenfest and you have flown it a few times, then try a 2 blade.
If you like the 2 blade more... Then order a spinner later on.

Here are a few shots of the 1/16" sheeting at the wing tip for the Nubby

The sheeting will be sanded flush and blended in soon

Re: BBT Lightened 43% Edge w/ Piped ZDZ180

Last night, I got all of the hinge stock (2 x aileron + 2 x wing) beveled on the bandsaw and glued in place

to those that have encouraged me to bevel the stock on the bandsaw - this has been a game-changer for me
.
.
.
I've likely saved 6-8hours of building time to get bevels this precise

Re: BBT Lightened 43% Edge w/ Piped ZDZ180

This morning I blended in all of the edge sheeting and bevel-stock on the left wing - I'll do the right wing tonight - likely 45 minutes of work

42 degrees of throw should be enough, LOL

Gotta love the Nubbies
