I put the diodes side be side and soldered the - to the + of one end of each diode. This kept the assembled unit shorter. It just looks like it's parallel.

I bring the wire out each end rather then one end and use another smaller piece of shrink wrap under neath to isolate it.
First; I don't really know what a diode is, and I don't know where to get one! I wouldn't know if it was hooked up paralel or in series! I think it is the thing that the Mechanic says is shot, when he opens the hood of my car and doesn't know what the problem is! "Oh! the diode is shot!"
If my radio has worked this long with a lipo battery and it doesn't work with a new one, maybe the gods are saying it is time for me to go for the 2.4? Gents, it has been interesting, and the conversation continues to show me, what I don't know!

Ha Ha!! KaptainK- If you are having this much trouble figuring out Lipo TX batteries, you should stick to NiMH batteries in your TX

I use Paypal which to some is a dirty word but no one in China has any of my credit card numbers.
Thats a big thumbs up . Just got a package today and what was one of my items a tx lipo battery. Comes with a balance lead and a standard JR/FT and also a hitec radio plug. Nicads have memory have to discharge to charge. Nimh has no memory but will drain or discharge faster than a ni-cd. Lipo put it in a bucket when you charge or whatevever means you feel is safe good for a month or so

My DX6i, it takes 4 AAs. The other day I left the house for 3 hours, when I came back home I realized it was on the whole time...the voltage only dropped by about .5V.

Reading through here, explains why there are so many different makes, colors of automobiles, planes, boats etc. "different strokes for different folks." The conversation is interesting, for variety of opinion, at any rate!

Re: using a 3 cell lipo in your transmitter.

My batteries still havent gotten here from HK yet. Any day I guess...

Hunting through my electronics parts box, I did find two boxes of 4005 diodes though... two boxes of a thousand! I forgot I picked these up at the local community college a while back, after they closed down the electronics programs. So I have LOTS if anyone wants a few. 4005s are just higher voltage rated than the 4001's that Dave used. They are the same size physically.

I can send you (anyone) two diodes for the cost of a stamp/envelope - say a $1. If you want to try it.

WHen my pack gets here I am going to try two in series and see what a peaked voltage reads.
