no switches here.. Full Deflection on every channel and LOTS of expo.

The only switch I use is for engine kill/throttle cut.

Re: High Rates - Switch Up or Down

I don't use rate switches, rather I use flight modes or conditions. 1 switch does 3 modes and if I wish, 2 does 5, very simple.

Re: High Rates - Switch Up or Down

I use flying conditions as well which I normally have in two switches with the exception of the F3A pattern airplane.

For the gassers:
All switches down, for take off, landing, rolling harriers, four/eight point rolls.

One switch up, changes the throws in my rudder, elevator and aileron for snap rolls.
Second switch up over-writes condition number one and all surfaces go to 3D rates.

Then I have another switch to kill the engine on the top left corner of the radio. Forward means engine on, towards me kills the engine, that same switch activates the timmer.

Fly more - switch less!

Cheers,

Will

Re: High Rates - Switch Up or Down

Good ones!

High rates mean a greater control surface movement for each increment of transmitter stick input.

Re: High Rates - Switch Up or Down

I race pylon. High rates down for takeoff, up shortly after takeoff and some speed gained with 1 low rate for aileron at about 40 percent, low rates for elevator at 30 to 40 percent down and 40 to 50 percent up. Expo at about 25 percent on elevator, a bit less on aileron. We want a full pull to get around number 1.

It is easier for me to push the switches up quickly than pull down.

Go back to high rates when engine is killed for landing.
