It's all about perspective. Some people spend $1200+ a year on starbucks or even Tim Hortons.

Many of us serious heli guys have or had a 130X that ended up sucking way more $ out of us than ever should be spend on a micro.

When I was at our fun fly last year flying my 500-700 size machines in the wide open space, I didn't think I would ever buy another 450 size machine.

Closer to home, although I can fly my big heli's, my field is smaller & for a quick 3-4 practice flights I often prefer the "450" size. I can charge 4 batteries in 20min. get my fix on a machine that fly's as well as a 500. It's a blast, and I'm relaxed, & having fun.

Do I like the cost....no, but the fact is, it will make me a better pilot because I can get flying fast, almost anywhere, can even throw it in the backpack or take on a trip. These machines fly so well that your "regular" 450 can't even compare. My MT e325's are for sale.

If your serious about this hobby, you gotta pay to play & buying quality is often cheaper in the long run.

I thought the idea of smaller was cheaper, but it isn't it's just a whole bunch harder to see. I wouldn't buy either one.
I can remember when I got into the hobby 7 years ago and built an Align 600 nitro for over 2 thousand dollars. I think the price of the hobby has come down and the quality of kits and electronics has gone up.

Comparing the Goblin 380 and the Chase 360 is very competitive. SAB makes a great product and gets people excited about flying. Like others have posted, look at the amount of kits preordered. It was history in the making. I seriously doubt all those people feel ripped off. They are happy to pay the price for quality and to have fun in the hobby.

Why do people seem to care how much a manufacture is selling their kits for? No one is forcing you to buy it. Those that do know what they're getting and are happily paying the asking price. If you don't like it don't rain on their parade.

I'm not sure why you are giving such a negative opinion in a thread headed " SAB Goblin unveil "

Re: Sab 380 goblin unveil

J,I wasn't knocking the kit????? I was expressing my opinion on the cost of putting a hi end "450" together verus a larger 600, for a couple hundred dollars you get way more helicopter. It wasn't about the actual Goblin it was in comparison of either or any other hi end 450 vs a larger more stable bird. You have no idea how many thousands I have in this hobby or how well I fly or how often. It's about tiny servo's and stuff costing as much as the std size ones etc. Maybe it was the wrong thread to comment, and don't think I am not pondering one either. My fleet of heli's include Rush 750,Synergy N5c,Synergy E5, Raptor X50,Raptor SE Titan, T Rex 500,Gaui NX4, Blade 550X. Most of these are very hi-end. Comment was in an active thread , most of these threads know one even comments on. Sorry if I have offended you guys. That was not my intention at all.

Re: Sab 380 goblin unveil

Very nice ! My 380 air frame is finished, the only gear I have installed is a brand new tail servo MKS from my NX4 which I sold. Still deciding on the rest of the gear. Tell me, are you running an Xnova in the 380 also and if so will the Tareq fit comfortably or does it get tight in there.

PS In case you didn't know its now become common knowledge from this thread that small helis of good quality are not that cheap.

Re: Sab 380 goblin unveil

Thanks guys....

The setup is as follows:

Xnova XTS 2820-890kv
BK 3001HV micro cyclic
BK 5005HV mini tail
Vbar mini with VControl radio
Pulse Ultra 1800mAh LiPo
YGE 90LV V2

24t pulley running VBar gov @3200,3400,3500

The Xnova fits perfectly, and there is lots of room for the larger Tareq edition, but I wanted to go lightweight and longer run times.
