ZDZ90 good for 100cc aircraft?

I'm considering a 100cc bipe as permanent part of my hangar.
Beast/Pitts/ultimate which ever.

Would the 90 offer the type of unlimited performance we are all accustomed to? Or is the engine more suited for a 75cc/85cc sized aircraft?

The 90 specs are very good, I'm a single cylinder kinda of fella. I don't like 50cc size bipes.
I have been stung in the past of using a light weight engine up front, and need to add weight to the front for balance, making the "lighter engine" not worth it IMO.
Or should I be looking into DLE111 (seems heavy) or Da120(over priced IMO) or ZDZ120 for this type of aircraft?
Honestly, If I need a twin, I may pass on it, too many mufflers and moving parts LOL

Any opinions welcome

Regards

Re: ZDZ90 good for 100cc aircraft?

A few years back I had a 33% hanger 9 cap with a ZDZ80 and a afriend had the 33% hanger 9 sukohi with a da 100 and we had very similar peformance. I recently had a 110" extreme flight Yak with a da 85 on a re3 pipe and it was amazing. I think the zdz90 would be a great choice in the beast.

Because ZDZ do not a reed valve like most others but a rotary valve you get amazing throttle response and power.

I agree, Love my ZDZ's. Usually swing as much prop as the next size up class.
I also have a large single, FPE 95cc in a extra. Runs fine, smoother than most would expect.
Hope this helps, Dale.

Oh My Gosh.... The new ZDZ-90 is a beast !
A friend of mine has one. The power and smoothness is impressive to say the least.
I am certain his 90 is as strong as my DA100L. It can spin the same props with out effort.
And you have the bonus of a lighter engine.

The ZDZ90 is the way to go, i do not have one but i have seen one on a 35% yak, It was turning a 27X10 CF prop at 6400. and it was still breaking in.
