Re: Trex450SE x2

It looks like you did the work when these were built. The Berg 7P with whip were what I used after switching from the much more expensive Futaba 146iP. For their size and cost they were much more tolerant of base antennas and programmable, as well. In fact, still have some 450 airframes around with these.

The basic SE airframe is a bit dated now, but the other components could still be viable. For example, the Hitec HS-65 swash servos were pretty much industry standard for years and are still good. However, that first CSM is a museum piece, (I have 2!) and the Futaba 240 was good as well. Originally, gyros and tail servos were where you concentrated on quality as it had a lot to do with how the heli flew and responded.

With flybarless and stab systems the heli could be updated and fly fine. I never had any problem with belt driven tails.

So, IMO these are still fine with a bit of component updating and would serve well for someone just getting into the hobby or wanting the basis for a scale body build. I would not give these away for pennies. but that's just me showing my preference to something I can build rather than program.

One thing I noticed is the main grips on #1 are definitely not standard.
