Truck Race Was So Much Fun To Watch!

I had a first hand look at the A-Main Truck race since I was marshalling and those guys were flying!

Everyone was carving some great lines and downsiding the jumps so nicely. But in the end Jay Lovegrove kept it cool and calm and managed to win the Triple A-Main. Not an easy accomplishment with so many experienced drivers out there!

Nice going Jay!

Jay was one of the only (if not the only) racer to enter 3 classes (2wd, 4wd, Truck)!
45 minutes of Qualifying
+
54 minutes of Triple A-Main racing
=
99 minutes of intense track time!!!

WOW! Thanks guys. Winning the truck was not easy, it seemed like whoever got out in front won. I dont think iv had as much fun as i did in the trucks. John that first main battling for second with you was such a blast. Grats Dave on driving like a champ and taking the first main, and to John and Martin for making the train in the third final so much fun. I think i was lucky cause i got to warm up in the 2wd which helped, and the truck just seemed to get dialed in at the right time. There was such an intensity in all three classes, and alot of rubbin in the racing, I know i got knocked around in all three classes and had to be a little more aggressive just to keep on 4 wheels. Id at least like to appologize to anyone i hit or took out. I know in the 4wd i spun Mark Lavery out at one point (soo sorry ), and bumped into Steve M in the 2wd (but steve that battle with you on my tail in the second main in the 4wd was more fun than anything all day! The practice the day before was key, and lets do it again!!) I almost placed top 5 in all three classes, would almost have had 5th in 4wd but my screw came out on my shock and i had to put on the brakes . Great driving by all and grats mike on the 2wd 4wd sweep, especially with what i feel was the fasted trophy race in sid's history.

EDIT: MGF it was both A1 and A2 where we were really close! Too much fun

Congrats to you Jay you drove like a man possessed:GRIN: And to you John that was the first time I've ever beaten you in a heat or main...You're a tough man to race. I didnt race truck last year but the rumour was when i started this year that truck was the "just for fun" class...Well I'm pretty sure you can forget that as I'm looking at the time sheets from the races and we're pulling mid 28's and low 29's in Truck...thats faster than some of the mid A-main buggies...And if you look at the qualifying the top 3 were separated by 3.9secs...If you make one mistake you're done...and that aint fun
