I am looking for specs on a connecting rod for the engine I was given to get running for combat. The existing top hole on the rod is severerally egg shaped. about .025. I am trying to find the centre distance of the the two wholes so I may bush or make a newrod from scratch. Or better yet I could buy a newer rod from someone. I am supprised that it was able to still run. A little inconstistant though.

Your help is appreciated.

Bryan

Bryan,
They usually stay running but when it goes to far it is usually out the side. Remember on them most of the power is in an up and down motion and there is not much rotating to the side. Just brings it around the bottom or over the top. For your rod length I would measure the wrist pin and then put a pin in the rod roughly where it should be. It would be close and after you replace, measure the head space and start with .015 and try it. If you blow a plug or it is looking rached increase by 2 thou.
Somebody else will probably gives a comment or two. Hope this is some some help.
John
